South African Firm Concludes Americans Are Impatient

South African IT consulting firm Dimension Data has determined that American callers are impatient. The firm's annual worldwide survey of some 360 contact centers says that Americans will wait an average of 37 seconds for a call to be answered, which is 30 seconds less than consumers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Asians will wait an astonishing 72 seconds.
Impatient Americans seem to like e-mail interactions. According to the survey, North American centers do 150% more e-mail service than the rest of the world. Those e-mail queries take an average of 11 hours for centers to respond, which is obviously much slower than phone service, but twice as fast as European (25 hours) and Asian (28 hours) e-mail response time.
